TEACHERS, MATH COORDINATORS:
ASK YOURSELF THIS:

Do you ever hear students say things like:

– 4 – 2 = + 6,
" … because two negatives make a positive"?

Or that:

– 3 + 9 = – 6,

" … because a negative and a positive make a negative?"

Ever feel like PULLING YOUR HAIR OUT, SCREAMING AND RUNNING OUT OF THE BUILDING when teaching these rules?

Rest assured, you’re not alone.

Teachers everywhere struggle getting all of their students to learn all of these rules.

But here’s the good news:

Singing Turtle’s new PreAlgebra Blastoff!™ Combining Integers Kit has arrived on the scene, and it is here to rescue both befuddled students and frustrated teachers.

In his PreAlgebra Blastoff! Professional Development Workshop, PRODUCT CREATOR Josh Rappaport shows teachers how by using this product, teachers enable their students to literally grasp the rules of algebra, through working with the fun and easy-to-use foam manipulatives.

FUN INTRODUCTION:

With his easy-going manner, Josh first introduces teachers to the PreAlgebra Blastoff!™ manipulative: the POSITon™,
the NEGATon™,
and last but not least, the ZERObi™,
Josh demonstrates how these manipulatives allow teachers to demonstrate basic facts, such as: - 1 + 1 = 0.

MOVING FORWARD:

Josh shows teachers how to use the PreAlgebra Blastoff! Teacher’s Guide’s WorkSheets and WorkMats to demonstrate basic rules, such as the same-sign rule, by modeling
problems like:

– 4 – 2 = – 6

+ 4 + 7 = + 11

– 1 – 1 – 1 – 1 = – 4

ADJACENT SIGNS:

– 3 – (+ 9) = – 12

– 2 – (– 3) = + 1

5 – (– 2) + – 3 = + 4

THE BEST PART:

Teachers will learn how to teach all of these rules in a fun, manipulative way.

Equipped with the PreAlgebra Blastoff!™ Teacher’s Guide, and classroom sets of manipulatives, teachers can implement these new, effective strategies as soon as they get back in the classroom.
